Our Warranty

The clock movement manufacturers represented by Dakota Clock Works guarantee the performance of their clock movements for a period of one calendar year from the date of purchase. In order for your clock movement warranty to be valid, the movement must be carefully unpacked, set up and operated in accordance with common horological industry practices. Failure to comply voids your warranty.

Under no circumstances shall Dakota Clock Works, its subsidiary or affiliates, be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential negligent damages, which result in the failure of the clock movement. If a clock movement sold by Dakota Clock Works should fail by no fault of the purchaser, we will supply a replacement movement only. Dakota Clock Works is not responsible for labor charges that may result from the replacement of a defective movement and/or clock parts.

It is the responsibility of the customer to provide proof of date of purchase before any consideration for warranty coverage will be provided. It is also the responsibility of the customer to present the defective clock movement to Dakota Clock Works, 306 South Main Street, Glen Ullin, North Dakota, 58631. Dakota Clock Works will not be responsible for shipping charges on returned items. Such charges shall be the responsibility of the customer.

Dakota Clock Works ships by common freight carrier. If the clock movement, clock kit or any component of a clock kit appears to have been damaged during shipment, in order for your claim to be valid, you must notate the particular damage to the carton on the signed freight bill. Examples include, “Box was dented in corner(s),” “Box was wet on side,” etc. Should you fail to notate damage on your delivery freight bill, your ability to seek reimbursement for damages to the clock movement, clock kit or any component of a clock kit will be void.

If you accept delivery of a damaged clock movement, clock kit or any component of a clock kit, even if the damage is hidden until the carton is open, and you fail to notate any indication of damage on the freight bill, we will also be unable to assist you with your claim. In this event, you will have to process your claim with the freight company. As such, it is imperative you carefully inspect your clock movement, clock kit or any component of a clock kit during and immediately following delivery.

If there is obvious damage to the clock movement, clock kit or any component of a clock kit, refuse shipment. Please notify Dakota Clock Works immediately of such refusal by calling toll-free 1-877-425-4879. If you are calling after hours, leave a detailed message with your contact information. An agent of Dakota Clock Works will return your call as soon as possible. A replacement movement will then be sent, and Dakota Clock Works will handle the claim process.

If a shipment consists of more than one carton, for example, four cartons labeled, “one of four, two of four,” etc., and you sign for the shipment but the freight company only delivers three of four cartons, your only recourse is to file a claim with the freight company. Dakota Clock Works will not replace items signed for, but not delivered.

Dakota Clock Works reserves the right to change or update information regarding prices, shipping, deliveries, returns, etc. at any time. Although we try our best to avoid errors in information and/or pricing, we reserve the right to correct errors and cannot honor pricing errors that may be listed on our Web site. By using this Web site, you agree to be bound by any such revisions and further agree to these terms of use. The right to download and store pages and/or pictures from this Web site is granted to users for their personal use only. Any other reproduction, by any means, without the express written permission of Dakota Clock Works is strictly prohibited.

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with state laws of North Dakota without giving effect to any principles or conflicts of law. If any provision of this warranty shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this warranty and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
